Abbie and the Capricorn Claws

At Advisory Partner, supporting our local community starts with supporting our people.

One of those people is Abbie Buchholz, our Director of Accounting, who has been involved in netball for more than 15 years and has played with the Capricorn Claws in the 2025 season.

The Capricorn Claws compete in the Hart Premier League Netball Competition, representing the Capricornia district at a regional level — often travelling significant distances to play teams across North Queensland.

“In 2025, we played against teams from Townsville, Cairns and Mackay, which involved a lot of travel and organisation,” Abbie explains. “Regional sporting communities don’t receive the same funding as larger centres, so community support is incredibly important. That support helps keep the competition alive and gives players the opportunity to compete at a high level.”

For Abbie, it’s also personal.

“It’s really nice to work for a business that values a healthy work–life balance and supports interests outside of work. That support makes a real difference.”
