Community Spotlight: Franky Waddell on Building Stronger Communities

Community Spotlight: Franky Waddell

Franky Waddell is Director of Operations for the Advisory Partner Group. Working remotely from his home office in Nowra, Franky also manages Practical Systems Software, a long-standing Australian software business that’s been operating since 1992 and is now part of the broader Advisory Partner Group.

With extensive experience supporting businesses, teams, and clients, Franky plays an important role in helping drive operational excellence across the group. Just as importantly, he brings a strong commitment to community – something we’re incredibly proud to see reflected in both his professional leadership and the way he shows up for his local community.

Franky’s contributions to his community

Alongside his professional leadership at Advisory Partner, Franky is deeply committed to strengthening the Shoalhaven community. Through his work with the Rotary Club of Nowra and Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services, Franky has become well-known for bringing people together, supporting local initiatives, and helping foster the strong sense of connection that makes the region so special.

When asked about his community involvement, Franky said, “I believe strong communities are built through service, collaboration, and simply showing up when it matters most. That’s why my involvement spans community fundraisers, local festivals, youth engagement, volunteer initiatives, and emergency relief support, as well as advocacy for local families doing it tough. “My focus is always on creating practical, long-term outcomes that strengthen the Shoalhaven for future generations.”

Within Rotary, Franky has played an active role in connecting businesses, charities, and local residents. Franky is particularly passionate about projects that support young people, improve wellbeing, strengthen social connections, and help community organisations access the resources they need to thrive.

“My involvement with Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services reflects my belief that everyone deserves dignity, support, and opportunity.” Franky said, “I’m a strong advocate for grassroots organisations that provide practical assistance and welcoming spaces for people facing hardship, isolation, or challenging circumstances. Through this work, I’m able to support programs focused on food relief, community wellbeing, and local support networks that have a direct and meaningful impact on people’s lives.”

Leading with purpose and building stronger communities

Known for his approachable nature and strong local connections, Franky enjoys listening to people, understanding community needs, and helping turn ideas into action. This helps shape the way Franky leads. “Leadership is about more than operations or volunteering, it’s about ensuring relationships are built on trust, service, and genuine long-term support. This helps build stronger businesses, stronger communities, and a stronger future for regional Australia.”

Whether supporting local causes, assisting community groups, or helping organisations operate more effectively, Franky’s focus remains the same: creating positive outcomes for people and the communities they live in.

We’re proud to have team members like Franky who are deeply involved in their local communities and who bring that perspective into work every day. At Advisory Partner Group, we strongly value community involvement and actively support our people in contributing to the regions they live and work in.
