WEARS Australia provides industry-leading water research and engineering solutions for managing and maintaining water catchment and storage resources.
Advisory Partner provides essential support for WEARS as it consolidated its Australian business and seeks to grow internationally.
Advisory Partner director Brett Plant chairs the WEARS Australia board and provides strategic advice to enable General Manager Cameron Meizer to devote his energies to product development, sourcing new markets, and building on existing client relationships.
Brett and the Advisory Partner team provide ‘big picture’ advice to help him grow the business. “Brett’s got vast experience across a range of markets and is good at joining the dots,” Cameron said.
“We’re not just a number. Advisory Partner has a genuine interest in the business and seeing it succeed.
“In any small business, you wear lots of hats but, when you find someone you can trust to help with financial management, that’s one less hat you need,” he said.
“Advisory Partner is more than an accounting service. They identify areas holistically around the business that may need attention and present ideas we may not have thought of.”
WEARS Australia works with local governments, statutory water authorities, and private companies to improve, monitor, and maintain water quality.
Covid-19 had a significant impact on WEARS, depleting its income by more than 30% with service and installation teams unable to travel to client sites interstate. “You can’t fix water quality from an office; you need to be in the field,” Cameron said.
But WEARS used the downtime to advantage, consolidating business procedures and focusing on internal gains and improvements at the Toogoolawah, Qld, factory.
As business moves into a post-Covid-19 phase, Cameron says it’s vital to engage with clients, be more flexible to meet their time frames, and increase inventory to enable speedier delivery of service and installation offerings.
Readiness and preparedness are key lessons WEARS learnt from the pandemic experience.
